And yet another movie that was filmed in my town. The majority of this movie was filmed in the big white country house across the road from our church. In fact, the cast and crew used our church’s parking lot and gym as their “base camp”. Martin Lawrence’s trailer stayed parked at the church too. He had his very own basketball goal brought in and everything. From what I heard he was an asshole but everyone else was very nice.

In case you are wondering why so many movies have been filmed in NW Louisiana I’ll tell you. First of all, it is very inexpensive to film a movie in Louisiana. Lots of movies have been filmed New Orleans for the most part. When Katrina hit, production halted on all these movies so they had to move them to Shreveport. The movie companies were so happy with the area that we have had dozens of movies filmed here. They just keep coming back.

Have I met any movies stars since we became “Little Hollywood”? That would be a no. I go to the school, the library, and the grocery store and that’s about it. My husband tried to talk me into going down to the open casting call yesterday for some Jack Black movie that’s going to be filmed here but I didn’t want to. It would be fun to be an extra in a movie though.

I need to compile a list of movies that have been filmed here in the past 2 years and post them. In my spare time, that is.
