My yearly carpool rant.
Every year I am just amazed at the sheer nerve and audacity of some of the uppity parents at our school. It seems that there are certain parents that just do not feel that any rules that the principal makes couldn’t possibly apply to them.
For example. The Carpool Line.
Our school is situated on a corner. The rule is: enter the carpool line from the south end and just get yourself in line with the other rule following parents and if the line moves smoothly then your precious angel will be dropped off/picked up in just a matter of minutes. Now, sometimes it’s necessary to have to make the big block to enter the line and be a proper rule following parent. Well, it never fails that some snotty little bitch in her fancy SUV will attempt to enter the carpool line from the north end and cut in front of you because it’s just way too much trouble to have to drive down, make the circle and come back up from the south end and even though there’s the big RULE it just couldn’t possibly apply to her because that line is just way too long and oh look at me and how cute I am please let me in so what if I you’ve been waiting in line patiently I’m cute and perky and I have a big FAT SUV.
ARRGGHHHH
Can you tell, I’m a little bit perturbed right now?
This is every single year. All year. Every day. The school sends out note after note about this and people still continue to do it. I think it’s going to take a catfight in the parking lot to put a stop to it. Seriously. And for the record, I DO NOT let these people cut in front of me. They will start inching forward like they want me to stop and let them in front of me and I just refuse to do it. Follow the damn rules. Ya ain’t that special, honey.
We need to move
We are seriously out growing our house. I came to this realitization this past weekend when we had Maddie’s little friend spend the night. Too many people in such a small space. My kids are always bugging me about moving but the cost of moving companies is not something we can really afford right now. They want their own rooms and I completely understand that, however, they will just have to be patient. When the time is right it will happen.
Why I had a cruddy weekend
So, how was your weekend?
What I have to do today
This is a big weekend here at our house. Maddie’s 9th birthday is tomorrow and, of course, I still haven’t gotten her give. She is getting a Nintendo DS and I had to wait until the Hubs got paid until I could buy it. I’m about to leave in a bit to run over to Walmart to pick it up. She is having her best friend spend the night tonight so we’ve got to clean clean clean before she gets here. The girls’ room is such a pit. I also have other house cleaning duties to do that I have been neglecting. We don’t have a dishwasher so I have to hand wash everything. The dishes are piled up to the ceiling right now. Every single utensil is dirty even the safety utility knife! Guess I better get off this blog and get to work.
Need!
I am in desperate need of some contemporary office furniture. I still have my very first computer desk that I bought back in year 2000. Fortunately, I do not have that original desktop computer, though. I’ve been through 2 more desktop PCs since then. As for my laptop, I just have it set up on my dining room table which has worked out fine. I would love to replace that old desk, though. It is about to fall apart!
I wish
I wish that I was able to take my kids on a proper vacation. They are dying to do to Disney World, Epcot, Universal Theme Parks and all those other fun places. If we were able to take a trip like that then we would have to stay a pretty long time. It would probably be a good idea to check out getting into a Orlando rental home rather than a hotel. What would be even better is if we went with my sister and her family and split the cost. Yeah, I really like that idea.
