Tonight has been such a good night. The kids have been good and are now all hunkered down on a huge pallet my husband made for them here in the living room. We’ve had a fun watching our fave shows, Psych and Monk, 2 of the funniest shows on TV. Oh, and I’ve had a coupla cocktails so it’s all good, baby.

Tomorrow is going to be super busy. I have to transport a kid to a birthday party and complete some sponsored posts that are due by Monday. Y’all know mama’s got to get paid, right?

J.K. Rowling reveals what the epilogue did not.

I know I, myself, could personally use a makeover but what I’m talking about in this post is furniture. My decor in my living room is what I like to call “Frat House Chic”. My sofa and love seat has certainly seen better days. We got the set we have now about 6.5 years ago, right before the twins were born. Well, needless to say it is trashed! Icky icky grossness. I would love to get it covered someday. At designdivafabrics.com you can get discount brocade upholstery fabric at a great price. There are so many styles of fabric to choose from which you can purchase by the yard or by the roll. Very pretty colors and designs. Now, I just need to find out how much it would actually cost to cover my furniture.

My kids go back to school in about 3 weeks and I finally did my shopping yesterday for school supplies. Since I have 4 kids I have not been looking forward to this at all. But anyway, our PTA sells these school supply packs at the end of the year for about $80 per kid. This is a fundraiser, of course, and is sold with the idea that it will save the parents time and stress of shopping off the school supply list. The kids just show up for school and their supplies are at their desk all ready for them! Isn’t that special?

The first year we were at this school and I just had one kid there I did buy the school supply pack. I was new and stupid and I didn’t know any better. Now that I have 4 kids at the same school I have become one of those jaded parents who scoff at the school supply packs. I just bought all 4 of my kids’ supplies for school. Everything off the list plus some extra for later.

I spent $60.

Yes, I spent $60 instead of $320.

Now, here is why I’m feeling so smug about this. I was talking to another mom a few weeks ago who is fairly new to our school. She has one child there and he is going to first grade. She asked me if I bought a school supply packe. I choked back laughter and was like, “Umm…no.” I tried to explain to her that they are too expensive, etc… But she was like, “Oh, but I think it’s so important that the kids all have the same thing so they don’t feel left out” implying that my kids were going to feel left out because their pencil box was different that the rest of the kids in their class. I told her that hardly anybody buys the school packs! Hell, the PTA president doesn’t even buy them. She’s figure it out eventually.

I can’t wait to tell her how much money I saved.

You don’t have time to post on your blog, that’s what! It’s been crazy busy but I finally managed to get some thoughts on Deathly Hallows up over at my book blog.

After constant interruption from the other people that live here I’ve finally finished Death Hallows. I need some time to process everything but I just have to say that JK Rowling did an outstanding job at ending the series. This book, by far, is my favorite.

I’m on page 320 which is a little less than halfway through. Apparently there are a bunch of kids here and for some reason they keep calling me “mama” and wanting food and stuff.

And you internet people? Please shut up until I finish the book. Thank you.
