7 things about me MEME

Heather tagged me a few days ago and I’m just now getting around to getting the post up. I haven’t done too many of these blogging meme things but this one should be interesting.

The Rules: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write their own blog post with their 7 things as well as these rules. You need to tag 7 others and list their names on your blog. Remember to leave a comment for them letting them know they have been tagged and to read your blog.

And away we go!

1. When I was a child I was terrified of some very weird things. Like band-aids and mayonaise. And dogs. I’ve since gotten over the mayo phobia but I still hate the way band-aids smell and I am still leery of certain dogs. I was such an odd child.

2. I worked in the cosmetic industry for 15 years before becoming a sahm. I used to have tons of makeup and barely any place to put it. It’s been 6 years since I stopped working and I rarely wear makeup. I see old clients all the time and they can’t even recognize me. That is so sad. I need a makeover!

3. I met my husband at an Aerosmith concert. In the back of a limo.

4. I tried to write a romance novel once. Didn’t take long for me to figure out that I was clueless. I would still love to give it another shot. Some day. In my spare time. ;)

5. My twins were born full term at 37 weeks and weighed over 6 pounds each. Yes, I had almost 13 pounds of baby in side of me.

6. My younger sister also had twins. They were born on 9/17/06 at around 27 weeks. They each weighed 1lb 11oz and spent over 2 months in the hospital. They are doing fantastic and look NOTHING alike. They don’t even look related. Meet Emma and Faith…

Don’t you just want to eat them up????

7. Yes, twins obviously run in our family. Our great grandmother had 3 sets. Of course, no one bothered to tell me this until after I found out I was pregnant twins.

That’s it! Now I’m supposed to tag 7 people. They are gonna love me for this. haha

Jill (Chimommy)
Gina (BrainFizzles)
Elizabeth (Table For Five)
Eliza (Homemom)
My Sister, Ruthie (Mama Drama)
Abi (Snippets and Blabbery)
Monica (Missy Prissy)

  • Thanks for playing Allison.

Isn’t it funny how once we are sahms we don’t do makeup. I rarely wear it either. If I have a business meeting or am going out for lunch that kind of thing, I’ll put it on. but even grocery shopping doesn’t warrant getting done up these days :)

Have a great rest of the week,
    Heather

  • [...] Allison tagged me to do this, and I hope I can hold up my end of the bargain. [...]

  • I have twins also. They just turned 15 this past Saturday. They where born at 39 weeks and had a combined weight of 13 pounds. Now they have a combined weight of 313 pounds and tower over me.

  • You are SuperWoman for carrying twins that long that weighed that much! Ha! And awww, those little baby girls are delicious!

On a serious note, I need makeup help, like seriously. Ever since having Kaitlyn and then turning 40, my skin has taken on this unattractive reddish tone that I think is probably sun damage, but I don’t know. I can not find a makeup that evens out my skin tone, plus I have oily, blemish-prone skin so I can’t use anything that makes my skin shiny. Please, please can you help? I’m going to Blogher next month and I don’t want all the photos of me to show me with red, shiny skin like last year!

  • Robin,

I just went to your blog and saw your boys. Very handsome young men! I’m trying to imagine my twins at 15 and it’s scaring the crap out of me. Not looking forward to the teen years especially since I also have an 8 year old girl too. I have one boy who is 10. He’s so out numbered. hehe

  • Oh Elizabeth I am so not the person to give out makeup advice anymore. I am way behind in my knowledge and there are so many new products on the market and I am clueless. If I ever re-enter the cosmetic world I’ll have to be completely re-programed.

However, if you can find a yellow powder that will help with the redness. Lancome used to make a yellow correcting powder. I have no idea if they still sell it, though. If it’s really red then you may want to talk to a dermatologist and see if it might be rosacea.

  • Elizabeth, check this out. http://www.everydayminerals.com/
I have blotchy skin due to sun damage and it has helped evening it out. They offer a nice trial package for the cost of shipping.
