Guess who got Build A Bear giftcards for Christmas?

I took the girls yesterday to spend them. That place is a nightmare, by the way. UGH. Never again.

Anybody want a 10 year old boy? This one was the best of the bunch because he absolutely would not stop. Look how red my husband’s face is. hehe

Oh and this was NOT taken at my house.

Whew. I don’t about you guys but I’m zonked. Just worn slap out. Our Christmas was awesome. The kids got way too much and I have no where to put any of it so the next couple of days I’m going to have to do some reorganizing and cleaning out. Actually, I should have done that BEFORE Christmas but whatever.

Christmas Eve was really nice. We went to the Candlelight service at our church. We met up with some other family members and took up a row and a half. It was such a lovely service. They did a Family Communion where each family went up in groups and the head of household lead the prayers quietly. It took a while to get through all the families but they had about 4 tables set up. It was so beautiful.

After church we all went over to my brother in-law’s home and had a little party. Good food and good fun was had by all.

Then yesterday morning the kids woke us up at around 4am but we had to make them wait until my MIL got there because she wanted to watch them open their gifts. Like I said before they all got way too much and just loved everything. Then we had a huge lunch and just let the kids play and make more messes.

Today the tree is coming down. I need my living room back.

One year ago today my mother passed away in her sleep. She had just spent the week baking and getting ready to have family over for Christmas Eve. On Thursday the 22nd she went to bed early because she was tired from working so hard all day. Her shoulder was giving her trouble. She never woke up. It was a heart attack.

Daddy found her in her regular sleeping position. The covers were still pulled up around her. Peaceful. Serene. What a wonderful way to go. I hope I’m as lucky when it’s my time.

I miss her so much.

I am officially done Christmas shopping. I didn’t think I would ever see this day. I still have some things left to wrap but at least I’ve been wrapping a little at a time instead of waiting until the last final moment. The kids are beyond excited. Even though we are broke as little church mice I have managed to put together a pretty darn good Christmas for them. They didn’t ask for a lot this year. They don’t watch as much television anymore so they aren’t bombarded with all those toy commercials.

I got my Christmas present yesterday. A new vacuum cleaner. It’s the bagless kind where you can see all the nasty crap that you suck up from your carpet. Exciting huh? My little Red Devil had not been working well over the past few weeks so I really didn’t have a choice. I am ashamed to tell you that I nearly filled up the canister after I vacuumed with it for the first time. I was in total shock. I can’t believe were were living in such filth.

Now I realize one of the reasons I had to stop blogging on WP. Choosing themes sucks way too much time!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I sure hope this means that we will get a publication date soon. Deathly Hallows….hmmmm. Interesting.

This morning I had to go volunteer in my 4th grader’s class.? They are making gingerbread houses and the parents had to actually build the houses using graham crackers and icing while all the kids were on a field trip.? When they get back they are going to decorate them with candy.? What a mess that was.? Glad to mark that off my list for today.

Still have tons to do.? Still not done with shopping and I need to wrap.? I keep putting it off and getting myself distracted by other stuff such as, umm, BLOGGING!? w00t.
